CLINICAL AND THERAPEUTIC SIGNIFICANCE OF HEAT SHOCK PROTEINS

نویسندگان

چکیده

Multiple experimental investigations have been successful in suggesting the role of heat shock protein as a clinical biomarker and therapeutic target several diseases. All living cells, from simplest prokaryote to most complex multicellular organism, contain proteins-molecular chaperones that are responsible for management unfolded polypeptides within cell. In view fundamental proteins maintenance homeostasis, it seems likely malfunctions associated with members families would pathological effects. Such effects might be minimal under normal physiological conditions, but could exacerbated at times. This review provides an overview cell biology immunology focusing predominantly on immunological responses range immune-mediated diseases infectious

HDAC Inhibitors and Heat Shock Proteins (Hsps)

Epigenetic alterations, including DNA acetylation, hypermethylation and hypomethylation, and the associated transcriptional changes of the affected genes are central to the evolution and progression of various human cancers, including pancreatic cancer. Cancer-associated epigenetic alterations are attractive therapeutic targets because such epigenetic alterations, unlike genetic changes, are po...

Heat shock proteins as emerging therapeutic targets.

Chaperones (stress proteins) are essential proteins to help the formation and maintenance of the proper conformation of other proteins and to promote cell survival after a large variety of environmental stresses. Therefore, normal chaperone function is a key factor for endogenous stress adaptation of several tissues. However, altered chaperone function has been associated with the development o...

Clinical, prognostic, and therapeutic significance of heat shock protein 27 in bladder cancer

Heat shock protein 27 (HSP27) is highly expressed in many cancers, and its prognostic and predictive value has been reported. HSP27 knockdown using siRNA or OGX-427 (an anti-sense oligonucleotide sequence targeting HSP27) is reported to have anti-cancer effects and to enhance chemosensitivity of cancer cells to chemotherapeutic agents. However, conflicting results have been reported regarding t...

Heat shock and the heat shock proteins.

As all biologists appreciate, there is constant interaction between life and the environment, and temperature plays a critical role. It establishes distribution limits, it affects rates of function as well as the survival of organisms. Notoriously sensitive to temperature is plant growth. Critical steps in plant life such as germination, flowering and breaking of dormancy can be manipulated by ...
